Evidence
Stalinist repressions — mass persecution for political reasons during the reign of Joseph Stalin, the largest in the history of the USSR. During the years of Stalinist repressions, more than 3.7 million people were convicted. People were deprived of their home, their favorite business, all rights and freedoms by the decision of a small group of people for the sake of the mythical “common good”. These events remain a stigma in the history of the country and the fate of many generations. People keep things and photographs belonging to repressed relatives in family archives as a memory of the tragic events that affected their families. The things of the repressed look like the only material evidence of the life of those who were shot or did not return from the camps.
